Our Story
Het Stroopwafel Huis—which translates to The Stroopwafel House—was born from a love for both Dutch and Filipino cultures, founded by a Dutch-Filipino couple passionate about blending their heritage through food. The idea started during family gatherings where Dutch stroopwafels and Filipino delicacies were always present. Over time, they noticed how bringing stroopwafels as pasalubong to the Philippines was met with excitement, sparking the vision to bring the treat to the Filipino market. Inspired by the vibrant stroopwafel experience in the Netherlands, they initially envisioned creating a high-end brand that would bring the authentic Dutch market experience to the Philippines. However, they soon realized that in order to truly share this tradition with the Filipino people, they needed to make it more accessible—without ever compromising on quality.
With formal training in baking and stroopwafel craftsmanship from the Netherlands, they embarked on a journey to create flavors that celebrate the Philippines’ finest agricultural products. After months of experimentation and consultations with a professional pastry chef, they perfected their recipes and carefully sourced the best local ingredients. This collaboration allowed them to expertly infuse authentic Filipino ingredients into the stroopwafels while maintaining the integrity of the original Dutch recipe.
